Lipa Archdiocese Enters Third Year of Preparation for Jubilee 2010

(Nasugbu, Batangas, 18 April 2009) – In a well-prepared yet simple ceremonies held at this prime parish of the Archdiocese’s Vicariate 1,  Archbishop Ramon Arguelles led the clergy, religious and the lay faithful in formally opening the third and last of the three-year preparation for the the Centennial Jubilee as local church on 2010.  This year’s theme is Communion and Solidarity and is called “The Year of St. Joseph, the Faithful Image of the Fatherhood of God”.  St. Joseph happens to be the principal patron of Lipa since it was made into a diocese in April 10, 1910.  

Clergy Takes a Break

(April 13,2009) –  After the gruelling Lenten season, capped by the Holy Week services,  the Lipa clergy, led by Archbishop Ramon Arguelles, held the traditional Easter Monday gathering at Darasa Resort, a stone throw away from the newly erected parish of Neustra Senora dela Soledad in this sprawling barangay of Tanauan City. It was a day to compare notes and enjoy each others’ company. Getting the attention of the clergy was an open letter coming from the Minor Seminary Fathers, who narrated their short vacation at Davao City.  In their letter addressed to the clergy,  they told of the “pressure” they got from their hosts.

“Priest, Sign of Unity of the Christian Community,” Reminds Archbishop Arguelles

(April 7, 2009) –  Sounding more at ease with his priests,  Lipa Archbishop Ramon Arguelles reminded his priests that they are signs of unity of the Christian faithful in their parishes,  just as the Bishop is the sacrament of unity in the Archdiocese.  This was the gist of his homily delivered during the Chrism Mass held during Holy Tuesday, a tradition in the Archdiocese of Lipa, departing from its Holy thursday morning schedule.  He explained this also citing the distance of the parishes that priests would have to go back to if this rite is celebrated as the liturgical calendar suggest. “For pastoral reason,  the Archdiocese of Lipa celebrates this Mass of the Chrism during Holy Tuesday,”  he explained.

Pastulan Center, Binasbasan

Taglay ang layuning mapuspos ng biyaya ang pagiging daan sa pagbuo ng mga batayang Kristiyanong sambayan, ginanap ang pagbabasbas ng Bahay Pastulan sa BUBI II, Dumantay, Batangas City, Marso 30, 2009. Ito ay pinangunahan   ni Reberendo Padre Nonie Dolor, direktor ng Social Communication ng Archdiocese ng Lipa. 

Ang nabanggit na pagbabasbas ay dinaluhan ng mga Religious of the Good Shepherd (RGS) Sisters sa pangunguna ni Sr. Mary Lydia Ebora, pangulo ng St. Bridget College, Sr. Ma. Añanita Borbon, dekana ng kolehiyo at iba pang kinatawan ng mga madre ng RGS. Nakibahagi rin sa pagtitipon ang mga guro ng College Department, mga kawani ng St. Bridget College Community Center (SBCC), mga pinuno at kasapi ng BUBI at ilang mag-aaaral sa kursong Social Work.
